Volleyball Legend Kerri Walsh Jennings Digs Deep to Make It to 2016 Olympics

  • Kerri Walsh Jennings, who hopes to compete in her 5th Olympic games in Rio in 2016, is playing injured  - again. In three of her previous four Olympic appearances - three of which resulted on winning the gold medal - Walsh Jennings underwent surgery right before the Games. The same will happen with the 2016 Games - if she can hang on to qualify. Walsh Jennings dislocated her shoulder twice in six weeks this summer. She has been playing with the injury since. She and partner April Ross, need to play in 12 events before June 2016 to have a chance at qualifying for the Olympic team. Read the full story in the San Jose Mercury News
